WELDBOND is
a wonderful all around adhesive for wood and foam models.
It looks like
standard white glue, but it isn't. A catalyzed polyvinyl acetate, it is
white when applied and dries clear. It is tacky and will not run like other
white glues. It sets quickly and holds strong after curing overnight.
Glue almost anything to anything. It is excellent to adhere balsa,
plywood, acetate canopies, fiberglass, hardwood, and foam. Much stronger
than CA. It has tremendous tensile lap shear strength, which is so critical
to glue joints in model aircraft construction. Excellent for gluing plywood
to plywood and is especially strong for all wood splices - thin wood can be
laminated without warping.
Note that Weldbond is not exactly waterproof. Put some clear dope
over it or don't let it get exposed to too much moisture. Wipe your
airplane down with the usual cleaner, but don't waste any time doing it.
